May 10 – June 9, 2024

Plan your visit

We’re excited to welcome you and yours to the 2024 WeeFestival!

What to expect at the venue

ARRIVAL

  • We open the doors 10 -15 minutes before to ensure no one is sitting too long!
  • Try to plan for arrival 30 minutes before to allow for transition and to use the washroom.
  • All washroom facilities are accessible and will have baby change areas, extra diapers, and wipes.

STROLLERS, MOBILITY DEVICES, INFANT CAR SEATS

  • There is limited space for strollers at some venues so please keep this in mind.
  • We often cannot accommodate car seats in the theatre because of limited space and safety reasons. If you can bring your baby in your arms with you that’s best.

LATECOMER POLICY

Given that many of the shows are under 60 minutes, we cannot guarantee we can admit latecomers.

ACCESS

  • We strive to offer a fully accessible festival experience by reducing physical, economic, and cultural barriers.
  • Venues are accessible but not always barrier-free
  • Visual stories and Social Stories to prepare for you or your child’s visit will be available on our website as of May 8th.
  • ASL Vlogs describing the show and what to expect, will be available on May 8th.
  • A limited number of weighted animal companions are available for those who would benefit from them.

FOOD AND DRINK

  • Unfortunately, we cannot allow food and drink inside the theatre. Small water bottles are welcome.
  • All venues are breast and bottle feeding friendly.

VENUE INFO AND SEATING

  • All venues are small in size with capacities of between 50 persons and 100 persons. Our largest venue, The Assembly Hall, holds 174.
  • All shows have general seating. Please be prepared to adjust where you’re sitting to accommodate better sight-lines for your fellow guests and their little ones.
  • Many shows have floor cushions and elevated “bench style” seating.
  • Some performances will require everyone to remove their shoes before entering.
  • Some stools and chairs will be made available to those who require them
  • We ask that you leave large backpacks at the box office, we will look after them!
  • We will seat families with infants in the VIP Baby section close to the aisle or exit just in case the baby is fussy and to avoid disrupting the show for others.

PHOTOGRAPHY

There is absolutely no photography or recording of any kind allowed during the performance with the exception of official photography undertaken by the festival.

Don’t worry! There will be time at the end of each show for pictures!

  • We strive to provide a welcoming and relaxed environment for our young guests and to facilitate a stress-free, tear-free experience. Our venue hosts and front of house staff have experience working with children and are committed to offering the most positive experience for you and yours.
  • Shows are presented in a Relaxed Format which means there are no complete blackouts, sudden loud noises.
  • We respect and celebrate diversity in all its forms including racial, gender, cultural, and neurological diversity.
  • We respect and welcome all diverse models of family, parenting, and caregiving.
  • All responses are welcome and valid. We have a “no shushing” policy. That being said, if your child does not wish to be in the theatre or is crying, please take them out for a break.  We will help you.

AFTER THE SHOW

  • We will have spaces for arts activities after the show to allow your child to reflect and draw so if you can linger, please do!
  • We do not have paper programs but will have a display with show information and our social handles so you can tell everyone how much fun you had.
  • We will also have a handy Tip Tap board that will securely process your generous donation to WeeFestival!
