2024 WeeFestival

From May 10 until June 9, 2024, WeeFestival will celebrate it’s 10th anniversary with a sparkling programme of 10 productions created especially for very young audiences by leading artists and companies from around the world and across the Country!

The line up offers a dynamic range of performance including music theatreinstallationdanceobject and shadow puppetry presented in intimate venues across the city and in Relaxed Performance formats.

Week 1: May 10 – 12

A captivating solo vocal concert about reaching beyond and growing up.


Week 2: May 18-19

Plastic / Plastique

Pupptery, Performance

Age range: 4 years+

Colourful plastic bags are brought to life by puppeteers-comedic chaos ensues.

Good Night! / Bonne nuit!

Pupptery, Performance

A hilarious comedy with puppets and objects about trying to go to sleep.

Sonia and Alfred

Theatre, Shadow Puppetry

A moving story about newfound friendship and refuge told with exquisite shadow puppetry and theatre.

Paper Playground / Poisson Papier

A playful and interactive dance performance where caregivers and toddlers join through drawing, moving, and music making.

First Words / mOts Premiers

Hip Hop and Contemporary dance collide and a new language is found when two strangers meet and try to make friends.

Quest for the Moon

Shadow puppetry
Dates: May 24 – May 26
Age range: 2.5 years +
Venue: Tarragon Theatre Near Studio

A heartwarming and engaging story about the friendship between a young fox and the Moon – told with the magic of shadow puppetry, music, and theatre.

Cuckoo / Coucou

Puppetry

A large clock is the stage for this clever puppetry work about an overscheduled cuckoo bird who discovers a whole new world beyond time.

Walangaan

Music, Sensory Theatre

A Senegalese singer and a percussionist invite young children into a music-rich journey of the water cycle from from the drop to the downpour, from the splash to the waterfall.

Capoeira Criança
