Walangaan

Théâtre de la Guimbarde Belgium

Walangaan tells the story of the water cycle – The water which quenches us, flows on our skin, splashes, cleanses, sings, rocks, and gushes. A Senegalese singer and percussionist go upstream, reveal its sounds and play with their voices and their bodies, from the drop to the downpour, from the splash to the waterfall.

Artistic Director Lynda says: “Theatre de la Guimbarde is one of the leading creators of theatre and performance works for very young audiences. I am so impressed wit the deep respect they show their young audiences and the thoughtfulness behind the work,They carefully research their works and develop them over a long period of time. This particular piece emerged out of a long collaboration with theatre makers in Senegal and shares with young audiences how connected we are to the land and water and each other where ever we live.
