Tricoter (Bébé)

Foolish Operations (British Columbia)

Tricoter (Bébé)

This joyful performance of dance and community re-creates the spirit of a knitting circle as dancers wind and unwind through the space tossing and rolling colourful yarn accompanied by live music. As they move they weave colourful patterns and connections with the audience evoking the power of community and belonging.

Tricoter played for families of all ages in 2019 and we’re thrilled to invite choreographer Julie Lebel’s adaptation for little ones 0 -24 months and their families.

About Foolish Operations

Foolish Operation’s vision is about people of all generations discovering and creating new dance experiences together.

Their mandate is to create contemporary dance experiences with and for an audience of all ages.

The mission of our society is to create and discover new dance experiences where professionals and non-professionals, young and old alike are capable, make choices and solve problems, lead and follow, create and collaborate. Using the power of play to re-shape reality, they celebrate children, including babies, toddlers and preschoolers, as agents of their own creative choices so that, together, we can build a healthier and more connected future for all.

Their work is intergenerational, inter-subjective, place-based, and involves families and participants of all ages and walks of life alongside professional artists, educators, specialists and cultural knowledge keepers to learn from each other and collaborate to the creation of new choreographic works, participatory installations, workshops, conferences and professional development initiatives.
