About L’Arrière Scène
L’Arrière Scène and Samsara Théâtre
L’Arrière Scène has the mission to produce and present creative works in Quebec, Canada and abroad, in addition to hosting and presenting shows at the Beloeil Cultural Centre for audiences of early childhood, youth and adolescence.
Since its inception in 1976, the company has favored metaphor and poetry in its creations. Venturing off the beaten path, it offers environments where diverse artistic languages converge. Marrying images, gestures, and words, L’Arrière Scène’s creations present worlds that engage the audience emotionally and cultivate a taste for the performing arts.
Samsara Theatre creates and produces artistic works that follow the ceaseless movement of life, in all its rhythmic variations, colors, and sensations. From early childhood to adulthood, including the whirlwinds of adolescence, its stories offer audiences unique immersive experiences at the heart of richly meaningful theatrical worlds. Here, encountering art fosters dialogue, broadens horizons of thought, and reduces the distance we may maintain with one another.
The artistic vision of its creators—performers, writers, and directors passionate about contemporary stage writing—has guided Samsara’s productions from West to East since 2009, fueled by an inventiveness and approach rooted in research and outreach. Inspired by both their audiences and their many collaborators, the creators continue their cultural work, also allowing themselves to be transformed by art.
