About Théâtre de la Guimbarde & Soleil Théâtre
The Théâtre de la Guimbarde creates shows that bring together the world of children and that of adults. The company is aimed at children – from toddlers to adolescents – and offers them a unique moment of artistic encounter that arouses emotions and opens up questions.
La Guimbarde offers, through the theatre, a nuanced look at the world, a critical vision of society and highlights “living together” today. Relying on strong writing and several scenic languages, it questions humans, raises questions and contradictions. Children live in this world just like adults. There is no need to water down the words. The company surrounds itself with artists who explore unique theatrical forms, weave links and constantly nourish the project.
La Guimbarde has a curious and benevolent look at the toddler. The company is, in Belgium, on the initiative of a theatrical creation intended for children from 0 to 3 years old and pursues an exciting research work towards this specific public.
While also taking an interest in the growing child, they also wish, through their creations, to appeal to the adults who accompany children in their artistic discoveries. They invite them to interweave emotion and questioning.
Guimbarde creations have been traveling in Belgium and around the world since 1973.

But also to promote access for populations, especially young audiences, to live shows. Show through various projects that the creative theatre constitutes an important instrument for promoting cultural diversity and a source of sustainable artistic and cultural job creation.
