The Friendship Star

In The Friendship Star we meet young Karawakwa and Piquot, little souls gazing into the possibility of a dark night sky and trusting their wishes for friendship are being heard by the Great Mystery that is The Creator. When their wishes are granted, their new friendship blooms but is soon put to the test. Actor, singer, and songwriter Cheri Maracle shares a tale about the importance of friendship with storytelling and song.

About Cheri Maracle

Cheri Maracle is a multi- award nominated actor/singer/ songwriter from the Six Nations of the Grand river Territory, Ontario. She has been performing in Canada, the U.S. and Europe in the last 20 years.

Cheri has released three critically acclaimed albums, Closer To Home (2006), and If I Am Water (2013), and most recently, jazz compilation, Ache of Love, all available on itunes, and through her website.

She is a Gemini nominated actress, and as well has twice been nominated for the KM Hunter theatre award for her body of theatre work. Her one woman musical theatre show Paddle Song, based on famed Canadian Poet, Pauline Johnson, garnered her a best solo performance nomination, at the High Performance rodeo Festival in Calgary, 2016, and was performed in Norway, and India as well.
