Plastic / Plastique

Puzzle Théâtre (Québec)

Plastic bags, they’re everywhere we look and that’s not a good thing. But when the inventive artists of Puzzle Theatre connect with that pesky polluting plastic, they bring it to life in ways you’ve never imagined! A whole world of crinkly, stretchy, and rather “hangry” creatures fill the stage and test each other and the puppeteers themselves.

Artistic Director Lynda says: “Puzzle Theatre has been a very special part of our festival’s history and Plastic/Plastique was a part of our very first edition in 2014. Since then they have been touring the show across the Country thrilling generations of young children! Pavla and Csaba are hilarious and their puppetry work is superb. The plastic creatures they bring to life will have you in stitches.”

About Puzzle Théâtre

Founded in 1996 in Bulgaria and established in Montreal since 2004, Puzzle Théâtre has a unique style by combining various types in the traditional and the contemporary: drama theatre, object and puppet theatre. The company distinguishes itself by the coloured amalgam of styles and the great diversity of means of expression that it proposes. Leave the audience the freedom to interpret the unmentioned, to freely associate ideas and allow it to feel what is not explicitly told. This is what became the artistic characteristic of the company. Puzzle Théâtre has presented works throughout Canada, North America, Europe and Asia.
