DreamScape (at Home)

ThinkArts (India)

In a collection of short stimulating sensory films, Dreamscape (at Home) takes the child on a visual and audio journey through the sensory-rich materials of paper, wool, clay, and the dreamy worlds of forest and sky.

Accompanying resources support caregivers and educators to create sensory worlds in their homes or nurseries.

Originally programmed as part of the 2020 festival, ThinkArts’s artistic director Ruchira Das invited associate artists to reimagine it for the digital realm with these beautiful short films.

About ThinkArts

ThinkArts was founded in December 2013 to facilitate high quality, transformative arts events for children and young adults, based on the belief that regular creative experiences are essential for children to develop their imagination and emotional intelligence.

Based in Kolkata, Think Arts has collaborated with over 75 partners across India and internationally to bring a diverse programme of literary, visual art, dance, theatre and story-telling events to children and young people in several cities across India.

ThinkArts also focuses on creating resources and support systems for other stakeholders in arts engagements for children such as educators, parents and artists. As a response to the pandemic in 2020, they commissioned 8 digital performance works made for young audiences. ThinkArts was glad to have once again fulfilled this two-fold purpose of creating engagements for children and supporting associate artists, through Dreamscape at Home.
