Parvaneh – by Afsaneh Zamani
Parvaneh means Butterfly in Farsi and in this sweet outdoor performance for daycares, children follow a little caterpillar’s slow and careful crawling on the playground swing or slide and then witness its metamorphosis into a beautiful butterfly! With puppet animated by artist Afsaneh Zamani and musical accompaniment by Hilary Wheeler, this “pop up” performance brings a moment of delight and wonder to young children’s outdoor time!
Following the performance, the artists, educators, and children share their observations and together, we inquire about the different way to say butterfly in their mother tongue!
