Ayesha Menezes is a PhD student at York University’s Faculty of Education, focusing on integrating muddy play into urban Canadian kindergartens to connect children with nature, build resilience, and promote environmental awareness. Her research challenges conventional educational practices by advocating for curricula that move beyond traditional methods, encouraging more hands-on, outdoor learning. Ayesha is passionate about creating inclusive, sustainable early education models supporting diversity and fostering creativity. She is excited to bring her ideas on nature-based learning to the WeeFestival, where she looks forward to collaborating with artists and educators to inspire children and build a vibrant community focused on arts and culture in the early years.
